Solvent evaporation, a novel technique for nanoparticle preparation is a very popular method because it allows efficient encapsulation of lipophilic compounds. Applications of Solvent Evaporation

  • Delivery of anti-tubercular drugs

Drug delivery efficiency has been improved by nanomedicines. It is believed that nanomedicines can increase the concentration of the drug at the specific site release the target drug at a controlled rate. Rifampicin is one example. Some researchers designed a special wheat germ agglutinin conjugated, rifampicin loaded solid-lipid nanoparticles to confirm the delivery efficiency of rifampicin. Solid lipid nanoparticles were prepared by a single emulsification-solvent evaporation method. Reports show that nanoparticles could be a ponderable tool for the delivery of rifampicin or other anti-tubercular drugs.

  • Carrier of felodipine

The delivery system of felodipine is another example of the application of solvent evaporation techniques. Felodipine is a dihydropiridine derivative. Felodipine is widely used in hypertension. Some researchers prepared felodipine-loaded microspheres via the solvent evaporation technique. The exponential increase in solvent evaporation techniques research and their growing applications in nanoparticles indicated them as a valuable and ponderable carrier of protein and peptide drugs.

  • Delivery systems for peptide and protein drugs

With the advancement of science and technology, more and more attention has been paid to the development of peptide and protein drug delivery systems. Somatostatin is a very typical drug, and it is a peptide with a high effect but a short half-life. At present, many drug carrier systems have been screened, and the emulsion solvent evaporation has significant effects on the manufacture of somatostatin drug carrier systems.
